The Madera District Fair is actually an independently run state agency known as the 21A District Agricultural Association. We are home to a number of community events including the annual Madera Fair that is held in September every year. We are also host to a number of interim events and full-time rentals including the Madera Speedway, the Wednesday Flea Market, Madera Skate, and a quarter midget race track.
Our Mission
The Madera District Fair strives to meet the needs of the community by providing a venue that is fun, safe and family oriented, all the while promoting agriculture and community involvement.
Madera County Fair Operations:
The Madera District Fair has an operating budget of $1 million per year. The Fair receives 1/10 – that’s $125,000 – of its operating budget from an allocation from Fairs and Expositions and does not receive any tax money. For the remaining $875,000, the Fair must generate its own revenue in order to break even, which leaves little to no room for property repairs and improvements.
The Fair maintains its expenses by their annual four-day fair, rental agreements with year round tenants and renting out the buildings for private functions.
