POSITION TITLE: Hype Team Member!
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Events
REPORTS TO: Fair Management & Marketing
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary / Seasonal

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an energetic, confident, and creative Hype Team to help bring our fair to life! This team of four will serve as the front line of fun, responsible for energizing the crowd, facilitating surprise experiences and giveaways, and delivering memorable moments throughout the fair. Members will collaborate with fair management to execute marketing campaigns, surprise events, and customer engagement activities from development to implementation. If you're a natural crowd motivator who loves bringing smiles to people’s faces, this is the role for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing Campaign Engagement & Customer Interaction
- Learn and retain key marketing messages, schedule highlights, and event campaign narratives.
- Deliver accurate, engaging information to fairgoers and answer questions with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Provide joyful and confident customer service on grounds and at public-facing activations.
Giveaway & Surprise Moment Execution
- Participate in planning, assembling, and preparing giveaway items and prize packs before the event.
- Coordinate with management for materials and logistics.
- Execute surprise moments during the fair, including flash giveaways, pop-up games, or challenges.
Public Engagement & Crowd Motivation
- Lead crowd engagement activities such as cheers, countdowns, mini competitions, or live shoutouts.
- Confidently speak over a mic, rally groups, and energize audiences with spontaneous, upbeat interactions.
- Appear in fair marketing reels and/or help promote happenings on social media when needed.
Logistics & Labor Support
- Support setup, takedown, and transportation of giveaway materials and event props.
- Maintain inventory of giveaway supplies and track distributed items.
- Troubleshoot onsite needs and support fair staff as necessary.
Pre-Fair Activation Participation
- Support and attend scheduled surprise events in the community leading up to fair dates.
- Assist in marketing visibility through appearances, social takeovers, or promotional outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- High energy with a positive, approachable attitude.
- Strong public speaking and leadership presence.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lift, transport, and set up light event gear and materials.
- Prior customer service and or event experience preferred.
- Comfortable with spontaneity and thinking on your feet.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Pre-Fair Week (Dates TBD):
- 2–3 scheduled surprise pop-up events (2–4 hrs each at minimum)
- A few team meetings and training session (2 hrs at minimum)
- Prep and assembly day(s) for giveaway materials (4 hrs at minimum)
Fair Days (4 Days):
Daily Shift: Approx. 8 hour minimum per day; potentially long days during fair.
Responsibilities will rotate between:
- Giveaway Distributions
- Stage/Crowd Event Hype Hosting
- Customer Engagement
- Surprise Moment Execution Team
