  • Limited Grounds Maintenance July 1st
  • Grounds Maintenance varying from August 1st
  • All department interviews at the end of July. Applicants will be scheduled by the Madera Fair office.
  • All departments Onboarding mid August

Marketing Assistant

POSITION TITLE: Marketing Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Events
REPORTS TO: Fair Management & Marketing
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary / Seasonal
DURATION: [June - September], Pre-Fair Dates TBD | September 1st-13th required.
TEAM SIZE: up to 4 employees

COMPENSATION: $20/hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The On-Site Marketing Assistant supports the promotion, public communication, sponsor activation, and on-grounds marketing needs of Madera District Fair. This is a public-facing, detail-oriented role that assists with fair-time and year-round event marketing, including social media content, signage, collateral, community outreach, promotions, event-day support, and coordination with internal departments, vendors, sponsors, media partners, and community organizations.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media Management

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and curate compelling content for social media platforms namely but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, opportunities, and customer feedback.
  • Thorough and timely response to guest inquiries through social media channels.

Public Events Coordination

  • Assist in planning, coordinating and executing public promotional events, and community outreach programs for the annual fair.
  • Collaborate with Madera Fair team(s) and external partners/vendors/sponsors to ensure seamless event logistics, guest experience and partner integration.
  • Provide on-site marketing support before, during, and after events, including signage placement, sponsor materials, information booths, promotional displays, guest information, ticket promotions, and event updates.
Promotions and Campaigns

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of promotional campaigns to drive customer awareness and engagement for the annual fair.
  • Coordinate with the marketing management to design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, digital ads, and email campaigns.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and provide insights for optimization.
  • Support on-site media coverage, sponsor activations, and promotional activities during major events and fair operations.
Marketing Materials Creation

  • Assist in creating marketing materials for print and digital as well as product.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all marketing materials.
  • Capture, organize, and maintain photo and video assets for marketing and promotional use.
Office Assistance and Customer Relations

  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing team, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing files.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries and feedback, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Participate in planning meetings and assist with office support related to marketing, admissions, events, and public information.
  • Assist in maintaining customer databases and CRM systems to track interactions and customer preferences.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Proven experience (1-2 years) in social media management, event coordination, and marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics tools, content creation platforms and AD management.
  • Graphic design, manipulation and development for both digital and print deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound social media judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lift and move marketing materials and event set-up supplies.
  • Clear writing and diligent proofreading.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
